Several people have asked about the poem I read on the show last week. Here it is. It means a lot to me because it was given to me by a friend of one of my sons who felt the poem described our home. I liked that.
EXCUSE THIS HOUSE
Some houses try to hide the fact
That children shelter there—
Ours boasts of it quite openly,
The signs are everywhere—
For smears are on the windows,
Little smudges on the doors;
I should apologize, I guess,
For toys strewn on the floor.
But I sat down with the children
And we played and laughed and read;
And if the doorbell doesn’t shine,
Their eyes will shine instead.
For when at times I’m forced to choose
The one job or the other;
I want to be a housewife—
But first I’ll be a mother

oh, i like that poem! and i actually do feel like that describes your home as well. it was a place where people could come together, feel completely welcomed and loved. :)
and i am exactly the same about blogging. all day long i have all of these ideas. walking around the city i am always thinking, "i should write about this or that". and then time gets away from me and I don't have an opportunity to do it.
